2013, there had been about 200 glyphosate manufacturers in China, in which,
over 30 manufacturers were maintaining normal production, with capacity of
about 720,000 ton. In 2013, the total output of glyphosate in China was about
504,000 ton, accounting for 80% of the total one in world.
In 2010,
the rise of glyphosate price was forcefully supported by the planting of GM
rice and maize (approved by China Government), continue increasing of oil price
and development of low-carbon economy etc. since 2010, the demand for
glyphosate grow fast, in 2013, it had reached 74,000 ton, the application
fields are extending from fruit trees and non-cultivated land weeding to genetically
modified crops weeding.

first half year of 2014, the overall market of glyphosate takes on downward
trend, in which, takes on upward trend from Jan. to Mar., reaches the highest
in early Apr., and takes on downward trend from middle Apr. to Now; by the end
of Jun, the price has decreased to CNY 31100 /ton, the Lowest point in the
first half year.
In 2013,
the stable capacity of glyphsoate was about 720,000 ton in China, in which,
Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hubei, and Anhui were 210,000, 165,000,
155,000, 40,000 and 20,000 and 28,000 ton respectively.
